Elton
- Recycling
The village has a periodic
green waste skip to help keep the village tidy this will stay by the old layby
at the top of the village until after Christmas to allow for Christmas trees to
be recycled.
Anyone needing an extra
wheelie bin on a regular basis can ask the Hunts DC for an extra one which will
be provided and emptied with the regular one at no extra charge on the normal
fortnightly collection. Ian Kirk monitors the skip on behalf of the village and
anyone who sees anyone using this who is not from the village please get details
and tell Ian. The skip costs the village money and so if it is filled by people
from outside the village then we all have to pick up the bill through our
council tax village precept.
The recycled garden refuse is
distributed free of charge to all HDC residents via their depot near the
Brampton hut roundabout on the A1 /A14 junction. This year the Parish Council
requested that a pallet load of bags was delivered to Elton to make it easier
for residents to benefit from the distribution. It is anticipated that this will
become a regular occurance.
The village bottle bank is
located in the Crown Car park. The revenue from this goes directly back to the
Parish via the Parish Council and helps keep the rates/ Council tax for
residents down. The Crown Request that it is not used before 9.30 am
