Organised by Russell & Dr Karen Hamilton, who formed Nassington Heart Safe Community, the first training day in Elton will take place at Highgate Hall on Saturday 9th April when there will be 5 training sessions, each with 6 places for participants. Each one lasts just an hour, with a choice of start time – 09:00, 10:15, 11:30, 13:00, 14:15. Participants have previously ranged in age from 9 years to almost 90. This is high quality training and welcomes everyone including family groups. You do not need any previous knowledge. If you have previous training you might like to practice your skills or have a refresher as it’s suggested that you do this at least once every year.
Please join us and learn how you can help save lives. Book a place by visiting www.nassingtonheartsafecommunity.org and following the link from the front page. It’s quick and easy but if you need help please call us on 01780 782634 we will be happy to help.
We are keen to find a group of people from Elton who would like to work together to develop plans for the village and fundraise to enable the purchase of the equipment needed to give everyone access to a defibrillator within the recommended time. By doing this you will give anyone in Elton the best chance of survival in the event of cardiac arrest. As you will know, Elton has 1 defibrillator at this time. The European Resuscitation Council recommendation is to have defibrillators not more than 100 metre radius or 2-3 minute brisk walk apart, so Elton has a challenge. Although more will be needed to achieve the coverage required, the initial target would be to have 3 more in the village as soon as possible. Please consider helping us, as together we really can save lives.
If you would like to help, please contact Brenda Parkes at email@example.com or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your full contact details. Once we have enough interest we will be in touch to organise a meeting in Elton.
