Minutes October 2010

Cllr Kirk took the Chair in the absence of Cllr Truman and welcomed two new Cllrs namely Mr Adams and Mr Shrive.

3. Minutes of 21st September 2010
Cllr Hidderley proposed minutes agreed, seconded by Cllr Porter, all in favour.

4. Matters arising from the minutes of 21st September 2010
 Grasscrete, Village Green – contractor has been contacted and will re-seed with a heavy duty grass seed in due course.

 Traffic/Speeding – meters fitted down Middle Street and Back Lane for a period of one week – numbers were very low. PC to arrange for further speed checks to be carried out at interim periods.

 Play area – concern was raised as to who holds the funds which were collected for the proposed play area, a project which has been going on in the village for a number of years. The Parish Council can confirm categorically that they do not hold the funds.

 Allotments – the Parish Council have a list of names of people who would be interested in an allotment if land was available. No further information is available at this time. Agenda item for next meeting.

All above expenditure approved.

6. Finance
Financial report circulated where we are to date.

Letter received from HDC for precept for 2011/2012 to be agreed and application submitted to HDC by Friday 18th December 2010. Agenda item for next meeting.

7. Planning
No new planning applications received.

Landfill, disposal of low radioactive waste, Augean, Kings Cliffe – Public Enquiry commences on Tuesday 26th October and will be held in the Manor Suite at the Holiday Inn, Geddington Road, Corby.

Replanting of hedge at front of property 7 School Lane, site has been inspected and enforcement file now closed by HDC.

8. Election of Councillors
Three candidates were put forward – election process carried out Mr R Todd and Mr C Doughty were co-opted onto the Parish Council. Letters to be sent out to the unsuccessful and successful candidates.

9. Meetings with Elton Estates
No update available.

10. Reports from Councillors
Cllr Shrive – Highgate House need to ensure verge is put back to how it was when work completed.

Cllr Kirk – Sewer cover damaged next to the School House on School Lane. PC to contact relevant authorities to repair.
