UPDATE ON THE MOORINGS

A LETTER FROM THE AGENTS, WOODFORD & CO, OUNDLE:

Dear Elton Parish Council,

I thought I would drop you a quick line to dispel the rumours that I have heard regarding this site.

The site, formerly belonging to Mr Bail, has been sold, and a new, sympathetic owner is in place. My firm, Woodford & Co of Oundle, has been asked to manage the site.

As you will see, works have started to clean up the area, which has involved removing 17 tons of rubbish, unauthorised metal and timber fences, human waste, hen houses, sheds, vehicle tyres and rats!

Although the site looks quite bare and scarred at present, the intention is to re-seed the grassland areas, fence along the footpath and perhaps re-site or even, replace and re-site (with planning permission) the already permitted storage unit (mobile home), so that it is less visible.

We then hope that the local community will again enjoy walking this stretch of the footpath, and the local businesses will benefit from trade that passing and mooring boats will bring.

In the meantime, I would ask that you bear with us whilst the work continues and the vegetation regenerates.

If any of the parish would like to know more about the site or have any queries at all, please feel free to pass on my contact details.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Woodford  MNAVA  MNAEA
